We recently had our kitchen and master bathroom remodeled by Aidan Baker Construction, along with two other bathrooms and a relocation of our laundry area from the first floor to a beautiful and spacious new laundry room on the second floor. We couldn’t be happier with the results. From start to finish, the entire process was handled with professionalism, attention to detail, regular supervision of the work handled by subcontractors on the job, and clear and consistent communication.
Given the nature of the remodel, many people would have moved out of their home until the work had been completed, however, we did not have that option. Even though we spent many days living and preparing meals for ourselves and our dog in the basement, Aidan made sure that the construction moved along as quickly as possible so we could resume living in the upper levels of the house with a minimum of physical obstacles, noise, and mess.
In the end, it was all worth it. The kitchen transformation is truly stunning—beautifully designed, highly functional, and finished with exceptional craftsmanship. Every appliance is thoughtfully placed for maximum convenience and the island with its huge quartz countertop is magnificent as a place for food preparation and entertaining. Every element, from the cabinetry to the countertops and lighting, was executed flawlessly. Our master bathroom now feels like a spa retreat, with thoughtful design choices and high-quality workmanship evident in every detail. And even though the other bathrooms that were updated have very different design schemes, they both reflect the same attention to design and construction detail as is built into our master bathroom.
Based on our satisfaction with the work performed, we also asked Aidan and his team to build a new composite deck adjacent to the outside of the house to replace a wooden one that had seen better days. Once the materials arrived, the new deck was up and ready for a barbecue within days.
What stood out most from our experience was the quality of Aidan’s team and their reliability and commitment to staying on schedule and within budget. His staff and subcontractors were respectful, tidy, and easy to work with throughout the project. Aidan showed up on site almost every day to check on the work, meet with his subcontractors, and most importantly, touch base with us. When he was unable to be on site, his foreman took over and took pictures of everything so he could see what had been done that day. Weekly updates provided through an online portal provided us with additional key information we needed to understand what had been accomplished and what was out ahead. Any questions or concerns we had were addressed promptly. We were particularly impressed with Aidan’s ability to deal with obstacles that inevitably arose. He always gave us the confidence to believe that any problems would be solved and any issues would be handled to our satisfaction. And they were.

“A Renovation Experience as Impressive as the Finished Home ”

We met Aidan, along with 5 other general contractors, while bidding out our home renovation project. First impression: Aidan was the most direct and likable of the bunch; he seemed incredibly knowledgeable of the process and thoughtful in his approach. He is a carpenter by trade and does all trim/carpentry work in-house, which was important to us and led to an even more incredible result than we could have imagined.
Our first impressions held true - after a year-long renovation project that included two ground-up additions, one large dormer addition, all new mechanicals (water service upgrade, new HVAC, new electric), two new bathrooms, new primary bedroom, extensive built-ins throughout, all new windows, doors, trim and a full kitchen update - we could not be happier with both the outcome and the process.
Every step of the way Aidan was looking several steps ahead. This was most evident (to us) when he tied in the new addition to the existing house. Aidan adhered to the “measure twice to cut once” rule and by measuring the roof height, foundation height and all the other necessary variables several times, our house was cut open, tied into and under roof and (most importantly) watertight, in under one week.

He has a fantastic team. His on-staff crew is both talented and very conscience of working in someone’s home.
He has great trades people and relationships with them. The companies he subcontracts with are responsive, do great work and it’s clear there are long-standing relationships built on trust and respect.
Aidan has a phenomenal memory. We never saw him take one note in any of our meetings, but he didn’t forget anything we discussed and would always follow through.
He has very high standards. He would redo anything initially not done to that standard - in both the rough and finish stages.
His pricing was incredibly fair, especially for the high quality of the work he provided. He also came in right on budget.
If we have another project, Aidan will be our first and only call.

From the initial visit (during a torrential downpour) with Aidan Baker (along with an architect and civil engineer) through zoning variance, permitting and then building in the midst of a supply chain crisis, ABC came up with creative ideas to bring the project to completion.
